Created for a national meeting of Saturn dealers, this video officially revealed the Sky Red Line (a high performance variant) for the first time.
The narrative centers around the concept, “there’s a wild one in every family” and visually illustrates oddball siblings with red color coding.
The meeting featured over one hundred horizontal feet of synchronized projection parsed into three high definition sync rolls. Each screen was 32-feet wide and 18-feet tall. The total size of the master canvas was over 7,000 pixels wide.
Vehicle photography was shot in two units. Running footage was shot on DVCProHD and directed by Playhead’s Jonathon Robinson and beauty footage was shot on HDV and directed by Playhead’s Mark Flesher.
Watch for moments when a single image spans all three screens. DP Mark Raker designed a custom-machined aluminum rig that housed three Sony HVR-Z1U HDV Cameras to capture synchronized, three screen footage. The focal points don’t match up perfectly, but that level of abstraction ended up being something we all thought of in post as an asset. The three-camera rig was named Voyager after the first spacecraft to visit the planet Saturn.
